Lost Valley Ski Vacations
Seated in the middle of scenic Maine in the town of Auburn, the Lost Valley Ski Resort is not to be missed if you are in or around the area. The resort is not the largest ski resort in the area, but we recommend it because it is easily accessible, being 45 minutes from both Augusta and Portland, has other activities for families to enjoy, and it is affordable.
This 300-acre resort also offers a nice variety of different types of terrain to ski on, view, and bike on including rolling hills dotted with tall green pines, serene flowing streams, rustic bridges, and 15 well-maintained trail systems.
And I do mean well-maintained. The people of Lost Valley Resort go to great lengths to bring its visitors perfectly groomed slopes; they’ve likely mastered this technique over their years and years of snowmaking experience.
Lost Valley is best suited to beginners and intermediate skiers, but there are a few thrilling trails available for expert skiers as well, which the resort assures will be a challenge for most. The 15 trails are accessible by three lifts to accommodate skiers, including one surface lift and two chair lifts. They also have night skiing if that interests you.
You’ll find a variety of different kinds of equipment that can be rented for all of the sports that Lost Valley Resort offers, including skiing and snowboarding equipment as well as mountain bikes and paintball equipment. Private and group ski and snowboarding lessons are also available and Lost Valley has a certified ski school.
The Lost Valley lodge offers the perfect setting for a family getaway; here you will experience a warm family environment along with outstanding food and beverages. This is really an ideal place to bring a family. Have fun skiing on the different slopes and then enjoy each other’s company over a great meal by the lodge’s warm fireplace.
You won’t run out of things to do during your stay at Lost Mountain because there are so many activities available. If snowboarding is your thing then you’ll enjoy their snowboard terrain park. Mountain biking is also available and is a great way to take in the gorgeous panoramic scenery of the area, they have 300 acres of wooded terrain with single-track trails coupled with tote roads making a unique trail system for you to explore. And as if these other activities and the skiing weren’t enough, you can also visit Lost Valley’s huge ten to twenty-acre paintball park, the playing fields are densely-wooded, making painting your opponents all the more exciting!.
As you can see, between the different slopes, the snowboarding, the large mountain biking area, and paintball fields, Lost Valley provides a number of options to keep its guests happy and entertained, which is what makes it such a fun travel spot for all ages.
Lost Valley Resort is also a great place to hold special events like family reunions and weddings; it is also a nice place for meetings. Catering is available.
